Ole originates from Norway and is 22 years and has a passion for sports, specifically soccer. He is currently pursuing a major in journalism with a concentration towards sports. Ole was raised by both parents and grew up along side with his sister, who has a passion towards music. As a kid, he soon became fascinated by American and international sports, from American football to world soccer,"I've been playing soccer for 12 years and continue to love it"said Ole.
It's his unique ways of trying to stay up-to-date with sports that makes his story, one worth sharing. He first began playing soccer before discovering his interest in American football and being a Indianapolis Colt's fan. Being the only one in his family to follow football, Ole would stay up stay up all night sometimes to watch the football games but would especially make time for the Super Bowl. Due to the 12 hour time difference, it was hard for Ole to watch games but soon discovered the headphone import built into his TV that allowed him to watch the games without waking up his family. Ole mentioned "I would wait till everyone was sleep, to sneak down stairs at about one or two in the morning to watch a Colt's game."
Growing up Ole was mostly a good kid and continues to be, he considers himself as the opposite of a rebel. It's the fear of getting in trouble that prevented him from doing unreasonable actions and comparing himself to people in Hawai'i. "Americans are more crazy, they like doing dangerous things, things you don't see in Norway" said Ole when asked about something has noticed since being in Hawai'i. Since arriving in Hawai'i Ole has mentioned the classes being "more hard" than schools in Norway, where classes consist of no projects and just a final exam. In opinion I believe that would make it more nerve wrecking, realizing that your whole pass or fail is dependent on this one exam.
So far, Ole loves Hawai'i and will soon return to visit after finishing his one semester here and finishing his degree in Norway.
